Bookings & escrow
All payments are held in escrow. Funds release only when both parties confirm the rental is complete.
Prohibited items
Weapons, stolen goods, controlled substances, adult content, and live animals may not be listed or transacted.
Disputes & law
Disputes are reviewed within 7 working days. These Terms are governed by Nigerian law, Lagos State courts.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Qloxet, a rental and sharing marketplace, shop, community, and delivery platform operated in Nigeria. By creating an account or using any part of Qloxet, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Qloxet account. One account per person; a single account can list items for rent, rent from others, buy, sell, and take part in the community, there is no separate account type for each activity.
To list an asset for rent or sale, or to unlock higher transaction limits, you must complete identity verification (KYC). We may request a government-issued ID, a selfie, proof of address, or business documents depending on your trust tier. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
3. Listings and bookings
Owners are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including condition, availability, pricing, and any restrictions on use. Renters are responsible for using rented items only for their intended, lawful purpose and returning them in the condition agreed at handover.
A booking is a contract between the renter and the owner. Qloxet facilitates the transaction, payment, and dispute process but is not a party to the rental agreement itself.
4. Payments and escrow
All rental payments and security deposits are held in escrow until both parties confirm the handover and return of the item. Funds are released to the owner once the rental period ends without an open dispute. Qloxet deducts a commission from completed transactions at the rate published in your account or at checkout.
Shop purchases are paid in full at checkout and released to the seller once the order is confirmed delivered, subject to our Refund Policy.
5. Prohibited items and conduct
You may not list, rent, buy, or sell: weapons or ammunition, stolen goods, illegal drugs or controlled substances, counterfeit goods, live animals, adult content, or any item illegal to possess or transfer in Nigeria. You may not use Qloxet to harass, defraud, or discriminate against other users, or to circumvent our payment and escrow system by arranging off-platform payment for a booking made through Qloxet.
6. Delivery service
Delivery partners on Qloxet operate as independent contractors offering pickup and delivery services for rentals and shop orders. Qloxet verifies delivery partners through a KYC process before they may accept jobs, but is not responsible for the acts of delivery partners outside the scope of a booked delivery.
7. Reviews and community content
Reviews must reflect a genuine transaction and your honest experience. Community posts must comply with our content guidelines: no hate speech, no harassment, no spam, and no content that infringes another person's rights. We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these rules.
8. Fees and commissions
Qloxet charges a commission on completed rental bookings, shop sales, and delivery jobs. Current rates are shown before you confirm a listing, booking, or checkout. Withdrawal of wallet funds to a bank account may incur a processing fee, shown before you confirm a withdrawal.
9. Cancellations and disputes
Cancellation terms and refund eligibility are set out in our Refund Policy. If a dispute arises between a renter and an owner, or a buyer and a seller, either party may open a dispute within the window stated in our Refund Policy. Our trust and safety team reviews disputes and aims to resolve them within 7 working days.
10. Limitation of liability
Qloxet provides the platform "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, Qloxet is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, the condition of rented or purchased items, or the conduct of other users. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount of fees you paid to Qloxet in the six months before the claim arose.
11. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, engages in fraud, or poses a risk to other users. You may close your account at any time from your dashboard, subject to settling any open bookings, orders, or wallet balances.
12. Intellectual property
The Qloxet name, logo, and platform design are the property of Qloxet. You retain ownership of content you post (listing photos, community posts, reviews) but grant Qloxet a license to display and distribute that content on the platform.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of Qloxet after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through our internal process will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State.
