1. Who we are
Qloxet operates a rental and sharing marketplace, shop, community, and delivery platform in Nigeria. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and how you can control it.
2. Information we collect
Account information
Full name, email address, phone number, and password (stored encrypted) when you register.
Identity verification (KYC)
Government-issued ID, selfie photos for liveness checks, proof of address, and business registration documents where applicable, collected only when you choose to verify your identity or apply as an owner, seller, or delivery partner.
Payment information
We do not store your full card number. Card payments are processed by our licensed payment partners (Paystack and others); we retain only the transaction reference and status.
Location data
Listing addresses, delivery pickup and drop-off coordinates, and, if you grant permission, your device's live location to show nearby listings or delivery partners.
Usage and device data
Pages visited, searches performed, device type, browser, IP address, and app version, collected automatically to keep the platform secure and to improve it.
Communications
Messages you send through in-app chat with other users or with our support team.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and verify your identity.
- To process bookings, payments, escrow releases, and refunds.
- To connect renters with owners and customers with delivery partners.
- To send booking updates, receipts, and account notifications.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
- To respond to support requests and legal obligations.
- To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymised analytics.
4. How we share your information
We share limited information as needed to operate the platform: your name and contact details with the other party to a confirmed booking or order, delivery pickup/drop-off details with the assigned delivery partner, payment details with our licensed payment processors, and identity documents with fraud-prevention and compliance partners where legally required.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
We may disclose information where required by Nigerian law, a valid court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Qloxet, our users, or the public.
5. Data retention
We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and for a further period after closure as required for tax, legal, and fraud-prevention purposes. Identity documents are retained only as long as needed for compliance and are then deleted or anonymised.
6. Data security
We encrypt data in transit using TLS, encrypt sensitive data at rest, restrict internal access to personal data on a need-to-know basis, and run regular security reviews. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information to a high standard.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data at any time from your dashboard, or by contacting us at privacy@qloxet.ng. Deleting your account permanently removes your personal profile information; some transaction records may be retained where required by law.
8. Cookies
Qloxet uses cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.
9. Children's privacy
Qloxet is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that we have, we will delete it.
10. International data transfers
Some of our service providers (such as cloud storage and payment processors) may process data outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we require providers to maintain data protection standards consistent with Nigerian data protection law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email before they take effect.
