Push Notifications & Badge Counts
Get instant alerts for bookings, messages, and payments, with an app-icon badge that shows exactly how many unread notifications you have, just like a native app.
What you get
- Instant banner alerts when a booking is confirmed, a message arrives, or a payment is released
- A number badge on the Qloxet app icon showing your unread notification count
- Badge clears automatically as you read notifications inside the app
- Works even when the app is closed: alerts wake the app icon
Three things must be in place
All three are required. Missing any one of them means no push alerts or badge.
1 · Install the app to your home screen
Qloxet is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Open it in your browser, then add it to your home screen. This creates the app icon that receives badges. Simply visiting the site in the browser is not enough.
Android
Open Chrome → tap the three-dot menu → "Add to Home screen" or "Install app".
iPhone / iPad (iOS 16.4+)
Open in Safari → tap the Share icon (box with arrow) → "Add to Home Screen". Must use Safari: Chrome on iOS cannot receive push.
Desktop (Chrome / Edge)
Look for the install icon (monitor with down arrow) in the address bar → click "Install Qloxet".
2 · Grant notification permission
When you first enable push alerts, your device will show a permission prompt asking "Allow Qloxet to send notifications?", tap Allow.
If you accidentally tapped "Don't Allow"
Android: Long-press the Qloxet app icon → App info → Notifications → turn on.
iOS: Settings → Qloxet → Notifications → Allow Notifications.
Desktop Chrome: Click the lock icon in the address bar → Notifications → Allow.
3 · Subscribe in your profile settings
Go to Profile → Notification Preferences and tap "Enable booking alerts". This registers your device with Qloxet so we know where to send your alerts. You need to do this once per device.
Go to Notification SettingsPlatform support at a glance

How the badge number works
Badge appears
When Qloxet sends you a push notification the badge updates instantly, with no need to open the app.
Badge updates when you return
Every time you open the app or switch back to it, the badge syncs with your current unread count from the server.
Badge clears when you read
Once you have no unread notifications the badge disappears automatically.
One device at a time
Each device you enable on is independent. Enabling on your phone does not affect your tablet badge and vice versa.
Troubleshooting
I don't see an "Enable booking alerts" button
Your browser may not support push notifications, or permission is already denied. Check your device's notification settings for Qloxet and make sure you've installed the app (not just opened it in the browser).
I enabled alerts but get no notifications
Make sure you tapped "Allow" on the permission prompt. On iOS, also check Settings → Qloxet → Notifications are turned on. On Android, check App info → Notifications.
The badge number isn't updating
Open the app and visit the Notifications page. This triggers a sync. If it still doesn't update, try removing the app from your home screen and re-installing it, then re-enable alerts in Profile settings.
I'm on iPhone and push isn't working
Push on iOS requires Safari and iOS 16.4 or later. Open qloxet.ng in Safari (not Chrome or another browser), install to home screen via the Share button, then enable alerts in Profile settings.
Alerts work but no badge number on the icon
Badge counts require Android Chrome 81+, iOS Safari 16.4+, or desktop Chrome/Edge. Firefox and some other browsers receive push alerts but don't yet support the app-icon badge API.
Ready to enable alerts?
Go to Profile → Notification Preferences and tap "Enable booking alerts".
